Review: Vengeful Gaines by Camryn Rhys

Blurb:

Mattie Gaines has so much to be thankful for—three beautiful children who are well on their way to making great love matches, a successful family business that keeps her challenged every day. But a part of her will never forget her first love, and she longs for her own romance du jour.

Wanting a new start, Will Jordan returns to Freewill and wonders whatever happened to that firecracker Mattie Gaines. When he spies her at the first annual Thanksgiving cook-off, old feelings resurface. Will can’t forget Mattie’s kisses from long ago, and he wants to make her remember, too—even if it costs them both more than they bargained.

My Review:

I don’t read many stories with characters over 50, and I will say this for Camryn Rhys, she can write a great story with some interesting characters. I adored Mattie Gaines. She has some great spunk and a deep abiding love for her kids that I enjoyed. Throw in Will Jordan who is both hot and kind and I loved this book.

I loved the way I could genuinely like Will and Mattie, together they are perfect. They obviously love each other and easily fell back into love when given the chance to reconnect.

This story works so well because Will and Mattie loved each other once. It’s a quick read and the story moves quickly but it works beautifully. I will read this story again, because I enjoyed the characters and their love story. I will gladly pick up more stories featuring the Gaines.
