Sheri, thank you for having me
today, I think we are two peas from the same pod. I am a stay-at-home mom who
is addicted to books. The passion started at an early age. My grandmother had
the gift of storytelling and my mother belonged to several book clubs. Both
women encouraged my love of books and storytelling.
My latest book, Crow Magic,
came from some of the tales I heard told around the campfire at our family
cottage. History, legends, and spiritual lore wove fantasy and reality
together.
One of my favorite tales is of
Spirit Animals and Shifters. “Once a man opens himself to the Great Spirit, a
guardian spirit in the form of an animal will be gifted upon him. This animal
is a part of his soul. The man may need to learn to control the animal urges as
well as learn to listen to the animal’s wisdom. The animal spirit can sense
good and evil as well as the man’s one true love, the mate for man and animal.
Some men may choose his animal spirit, others will be born with theirs; the
spirit within these men give the body the ability to shift from human to
animal.”
I currently live in a log home
tucked deep in the woods often visited by woodland beings. I
imagined the creatures with their powerful spirits guiding me to tell their
stories. A handsome crow became the first.
Crow Magic Blurb
Lucy Richards is tired of being
timid around men. Hoping to overcome her fears and feel like a real woman, she
turns to Madame Eve to find a man who will fulfill that goal. Eve arranges a
one-night stand with a handsome Shawnee shaman who will teach Lucy to use her
womanly power and take her to unimaginable heights.
Shape shifter Seth Crowe is a
Keeper of the Spiritual Law who carries souls from darkness to light, and
enjoys using his body to accomplish his magic.
Tucked away in the Castillo
Poconos Resort, Seth helps Lucy find spiritual and sexual freedom, never
dreaming he might find his own mate in the bargain.
Crow Magic Excerpt
“I am a man who is yours
tonight, Lucy.” He walked toward her with arms out from his sides, exposing his
nudity. “Draw on the power within you. Look at me. Overcome your apprehension
of men. Have I not shown you gentleness?”
She nodded and approached him
while tugging the strap of her sundress.
“Keep your dress on. Take it
off when you are ready. This night is about you. Explore my body, learn from
it, and take whatever you want. You are in control.”
He led her to the center of the
blanket and faced her. She stood still with her fingertips resting on his
waist. Cupping her face, he lost himself in her eyes.
“I am your instrument to use
tonight. Open yourself up and delve into this opportunity I offer. I am yours
to command. Do you understand what I’m saying?”
“I think so.” She considered
his offer. “What do I do?”
“Follow your feminine
intuition.” He couldn’t hold back a chuckle. “Touch me, tickle me, beat me,
kiss me, bite me, lick me, suck me…whatever you want. Take whatever you need
from me to strengthen you.”
In the moonlight, an endearing,
innocent blush spread across her face. Amazing how a woman who lived her life
in fear caused by abuse could be so naive of her own sensual power. If she knew
her potential, she could bring him to his knees.
Please, bring me to my knees.

ReplyDeleteOMGosh, Mary! The excerpt entranced me...I was riveted by the dialogue. I don't think I've ever read a scene quite like this where the woman was in charge. I have GOT to read this book! I am addicted to this story already and all I've read is the excerpt. I can tell you are a master storyteller and your books will be on my keeper shelf. Am I ever glad I "met" you today on this blog! Thank you for sharing a bit about yourself and your excerpt. And thank you for this post, Sheri! jdh2690@gmail.com
ReplyDeleteI forgot to answer the question. The spirit animal I chose a long time ago is the owl. I don't even remember why, but I've always loved owls, all kinds, sizes and shapes. They fascinate me actually. I have pictures of them in my house and gifts of statuettes my children have given me.
DeleteThank you Janice. I'm glad to "meet" you too, Just to be a tease, I'm almost done with another book you'd like. He's a Chippewa Eagle shifter. AND... I'm working on two more (a hawk and a falcon). Be sure to follow my blog for sneak peeks.
