Review: Gaines and Losses by Camryn Rhys

Blurb:

Sylvie Proulx has a very proper, professional life, where every second is scheduled and each mouthful of food carefully documented and exercised away. But a woman has needs. So she discreetly requests a 1NS date from Madame Eve, only to be paired with a free-spirited cowboy from Freewill, Wyoming with a thing for steak.

Paul Gaines needs a sponsor for the national rodeo circuit and travels back to Vegas to seek out a meeting. He needs a date to the fancy party, and calls on a dating service he's known for a long time, expecting a night of fun and companionship. But the more he discovers about Sylvie, the more he wants to cover her in crème brûlée and teach her how to ride a horse.

Only Sylvie has very careful boundaries, and Paul only has one night to convince her to give him a tomorrow.

My Review:

I adored the other Gaines books and I enjoyed seeing Paul be someone other than the total playboy, why yes I know that sounds silly since he’s on a 1NS date with Sylvie but I could quickly tell that he really liked her.

Sylvie has a whole list of issues and I wanted to smack her father and ex right upside the head for helping create them. I love that she lets go with Paul and indulges with the sexy cowboy. She represented to me the way most women just want to be able to eat crème brûlée and have wild sex with a cowboy, ok that might be more what I want to do.

This is a great representation of the 1NS series, they meet, they’re instantly attracted, they talk a bit, they have wild hot sex and ultimately realize that Madame Eve knows her business and they’re perfect for each other if they can just let go. I’ll admit this one ended a bit abruptly but yet it still worked for the story, out of all of the Gaines books written by Ms. Rhys this is the one I need a follow up to, I might just have to write her an email.

I recommend it, it’s got a sexy cowboy, a woman who cuts loose and a bit of fun with food that just adds to the level of sexiness this book provides.
