#NewRelease A Santini's Heart by @MelSchroeder #Santinis #Review

Title: A Santini's Heart
Author: Melissa Schroeder
Series: The Santinis (Book 10)
Rating: 5 Books
Blurb: Carlos Santini has seen the worst of war first hand. After leaving the Marines, he decided to open a therapy ranch. If he can’t fight anymore, he wants to help those who have served and who are still serving. Everything is fantastic, but for one little issue, his assistant, Tia Mendoza. The woman is bossy, sarcastic, and so hot he can barely keep his thoughts straight around her.

Tia loves the work she does with Carlos. She thrives helping other veterans like her brother. Of course, working for a man like Carlos isn’t easy. He has a hot temper and he is so sexy when he loses it. She can’t help but test him, until the day she pushes him too far.

Carlos knows from that first kiss that Tia is the woman for him. But, before they can have that Santini HEA, they find the ranch they both love in danger from some very bad man. As the threats grow deadly, Carlos realizes that before he can claim his woman, he will have to do everything in his power to save her life.

Carlos…finally! I was so excited to see this Santini fall in love. The banter between Tia and Carlos is some of my all-time favorite, they’re definitely my new favorite Santini couple. Throw in a bit of suspense, two stubborn people who should just give in and meddling family and this book knocked it out of the park!

Carlos is a hero with some issues but he is working hard to overcome them and help others in the process. Tia knows horses and how to help Carlos and others effortlessly. She is the kind of heroine, who isn’t looking for love but it definitely sneaks up on her.

I loved catching up with past characters and getting glimpses of what will happen in the future. The author definitely has a skill for weaving a well written world that intertwines and makes me feel like I’m part of the Santini family!

#NewRelease Fire Brand by Diana Palmer @HQNBooks

Title: Fire Brand
Author: Diana Palmer
Rating: 4.5 Books
Blurb:

He'll risk his whole heart to save her from the past

Gaby Cane was always a bit afraid of her attraction to Bowie McCayde. Even when she was fifteen and Bowie's family took her in, she had sensed his simmering resentment. Now ten years later, she's an aspiring journalist who can hold her own with any man professionally, the dark shadows of years gone by far behind her. Then Bowie strides back into her life—only this time, he needs her, and the pull of loyalty to his family is too strong to ignore.

When Bowie asked Gaby to help save his family's Arizona ranch, he never expected the girl he once knew to return transformed into a stunning, successful woman. As they work together, Bowie is shocked to find that her innocence and beauty stir a hunger he can't deny. But the rogue rancher can sense something holding her back, and he's determined to uncover the terrible secret Gaby is fighting to keep hidden…

Gaby is a great heroine, she has this mystery about her that I loved, and she’s fearless. She dives in and just goes for what she believes is right, even when it puts her at odds with those she loves.

Bowie McCayde, he’s a man I can fall in love with…and want to yell at, at the same time. He’s a bit of a jerk, but still waters run deep. He definitely cares for even loves Gaby but he’s not that great at showing how he feels.  He’s a true cowboy who loves the earth and sees himself as a steward of the land.

Bowie’s mother is a great secondary character and the storyline surrounding her, adds an interesting element to this story.

Now, Ms. Palmer stories are usually pretty tame, and I’ve been seeing more and more steam, but this one still has that sweet innocence that I absolutely need and adore from Ms. Palmer. It’s definitely a great story for a solid author I love.
