No Matter When
by Nancy Adams
Blurb:
Standing
on the battlements of a 16th century Keep was the last place Gabriel Sutherland
should be. Then again, being ‘shifted’ to 1503 seconds before a rocket blew his
ass to bits wasn’t something he had envisioned either. Still, he was surviving
the only way he knew how, as a soldier. Then Lilly arrived. Sweet, innocent
Lilly. For a genetically superior soldier whose life had entailed of nothing
but serving King and country, the arrival of Lilly proves too much for Gabe to
ignore. For the first time in his life, Gabe can have a woman of his own and
Lilly is the one.
Lilly Marten lives alone, her
quiet life the result of a highly sensitive photographic memory. That changed
when she arrived in the year 1503 seconds before Toronto’s popular C.N Tower
came crashing down on top of her. Now she was never alone. Gabe was always
near. With his unbelievably perfect features and intense green eyes, he is not
a man easily ignored. Yet, uncertainty about her new life leaves Lilly with no
choice but to put faith in a man she fears and whose strong physical presence
causes her to desire more than just his trust.

Author Interview:
Which genre(s) do you write and is one of them your
favorite?
My main genre is erotic romance
of course, but I always weave in another to spice things up like, historical,
time travel, sci-fi (and that was just one book). I have also written
paranormal and contemporary. I write in
whatever genre is tickling my fancy at the time, and NO I don’t have a
favourite, I like them all.
Tell us something that most people don’t know about you?
(That you would be willing to share)
Hmm…Well, I have a sheet
fetish. I just love buying bed sheets,
the higher the thread count the happier I am.
I am also very superstitious. No shoes on the counters or open umbrellas
in my house. I throw salt over my
shoulder when I spill it, my horseshoe is above my front door, I plant lavender
for luck and the thought of breaking a mirror or a rocking chair rocking by it
self gives me the chills.
Where do you dream of traveling to and why?
I would love to travel to New
Zealand. To be honest, my Grandma had
given me a romance that was set in New Zealand; I was so intrigued by the
authors’ description of the different areas that I actually searched for them
on the net. They were very real places
and as soon as I saw pictures, I was smitten.
Does travel play in the writing
of your books?
Yes, absolutely it does. In my books, I have my characters travelling
to places I’ve been, which is anywhere from Northern Quebec, to Vancouver
Island to England. There are a few
places I’ve visited that I want to use in a manuscript like southern France. I’ve really got to figure out how I can get
one of my characters to run through a Lavender field naked, it was something I
wanted to do when I was there, (I have this mild addiction to Lavender…it’s
nothing to worry about…most days.) but my husband stopped me. He didn’t think the locals would like a Crazy-Canuck
running bare-assed through there fields.
I of course, disagreed, that
would be a great story for everyone involved.
Tell us about your current release.
My current release, The
Bannockburn Spell is an erotic contemporary/fairy tale romance.
It’s a story about Meghan
Kennedy who goes to Scotland to avoid her sleazy ex-boyfriend. While in Scotland she meets ex-special forces
soldier William Mackenzie and learns not only is their a strong mutual
attraction between them, but their families forged a marriage contract…800
years before either one of them were even born and to help guarantee the
marriage…they wove a binding spell into said marriage contract. To stir the pot a little more, Meghan’s
stubborn streak goes way beyond normal, Will bets Megan that she will fall in
love with him in front of the entire village, and Meghan finds out the
ex-boyfriend had taken dedication to a new level and is now stalking her…from
Canada.
Here’s the Book Blurb:
With the help of a bet, an
eight-hundred-year-old marriage contract and a spell, ex-SBS soldier Will might
just have enough in his arsenal to capture Meghan’s heart.
Since arriving in Little Glen,
Scotland, Meghan Kennedy’s life has got decidedly more interesting. She enters
into a bet with hunky ex-SBS soldier, William MacKenzie, discovers an ancient
marriage contract and to top it all off, she learns that she had a spell cast
on her…eight hundred years before she was even born. None of it matters,
because she refuses to make the same mistake twice. Will’s hard body and sexy
grin don’t matter, his beautiful hypnotic eyes don’t matter, and it doesn’t
matter that every time they kiss her body calls out for his, as though denied
of his touch for hundreds of years.
Ex-SBS soldier William
MacKenzie is disciplined, trained to be an efficient soldier and he takes the
same approach with his life as he does his business. Then Meghan arrives, with
her fiery temper and hair to match, all he can think about is Meghan. Her
feisty temper bemuses him, her beauty astounds him and her stubbornness annoys
the hell out of him. Lucky for him, he doesn’t know how to quit, he can be just
as stubborn and occasionally ruthless, and he will use any means necessary to
get her. Of course the ‘means’ at his disposal just happen to be a bet, a
marriage contract and an ancient spell, but if in the end Meghan belongs to
him, who is he to argue?
Tell us about your next release.
My next release, Extinct, is an
erotic contemporary/shifter romance which is due out February ’14 for
pre-release and March ’14 for general release.
The story is about Theo Grey, a
police officer who lives in Tofino, British Colombia. He’s a normal guy, living
a not so normal life which began April 1915, during the First World War.
As Theo lay dying in a Belgian
forest with the bodies of his men surrounding him, he is given the gift of
eternal life in the form of a soul; the only kicker is that soul is the soul of
a wolf. From there he goes through life
protecting wolf, and the wolf returns the favor, the two coexisting quite
well. Then Theo meets Dr. Drew
O’Bannion, the new town vet and the wolf suddenly claims that Drew is their
‘mate’. As their attraction for one
another grows, there is a rogue shooter wandering the surrounding woods killing
all the local wolves, and a really slimy bad guy plus a surprise twist at the
end. But I don’t want to give away too
much. *wink wink*
About the Author:
My name is Nancy Adams. I am a
full-blooded Canadian, right down to the maple syrup running though my veins. I
enjoy watching hockey but despise skating...and the cold. I enjoy a good
helping of Tourtiere with a side of Poutine as much as the next person, yet I
am only bilingual when it comes to swear words.Besides writing, I have three
small - but legal - addictions: bed linens, lavender and books. All of which
are replenished on a regular basis. Reading into the wee hours of the morning
is one of my many bad habits, next to spontaneously rearranging furniture and
randomly painting rooms in my house.

Nancy will be awarding a $20 GC
