Victoria is a business owner, a
friend and a succubus, the latter being something she despises with her whole
heart. As she works to free others like her from the daily need to feed from
sexual partners, she stumbles across her mate. Now she’s fighting destiny and
the call of his lust, refusing to sate her need on the one male made for her.
Dominick is a technowizard used
to living his life his way. When he arrives at a business meeting and senses
his mate, he’s intrigued. When she slams walls up around herself and refuses to
even look at him, he goes on the prowl. He uses her sex phone business to get
her attention, but can he keep her on the line long enough to capture her
heart?
My
Review:
I loved this book. From the very beginning and meeting
Victoria I was hooked. The idea of a succubus who runs a phone sex company is
so original and fun. Ms. Barrymire does an exceptional job of creating fun and
unique characters. I understood Victoria’s motivations perfectly and I really
liked her. Some of the little details to the world showcasing the aspects of
the supernatural portions were intricately woven into the story so well that I
could just imagine seeing them and experiencing the wonder myself.
Dominick is perfect with the way he seduces Victoria and all
of her senses one by one. I want my own Dominick. I also loved the way this
story doesn’t focus on the physical aspect to carry the sex and the attraction.
It’s a refreshing twist on most stories out there.
Overall, this is a hot, sexy yet emotional tale that I
highly recommend. I can only hope that Ms. Barrymire plays within this world
again. I know of at least one other succubus that I’d love to know how their
story unfolds.

Excerpt:
Gently coaxing it from the outer box was made more difficult
when her hands started to tremble. Inside a large glass terrarium was an
extremely rare and awesomely magical plant she’d only seen in text books. A
genuine Bridgetium azulerae, more
commonly known as the Etraza tree.
“Oh my gods, Vic. Is that what I think it is?”
Victoria couldn’t even nod for fear of dropping the precious
plant. It pulsed with magic even as it remained dormant. She knew that it would
take a trigger to release the hibernation spell before it would fully become an
animated living thing again. As it rested in its tiny environment she could see
the miniscule buds on the ends of each branch. The miniature tree was perfect
in its structure. Tiny branches spread off a thin trunk. Even though her
specimen wasn’t much taller than a book, it had to be hundreds of years old.
Once reanimated, the tree would experience all four seasons, cycling through
growth, sleep and rebirth each day.
Gently setting the glass case on her desk allowed her to
release the breath she’d been holding. It left her lips in a whooshing whisper.
“Wow.”
“Holy shit.” Gynger gasped behind her. They both stood there
staring, silent for a few moments. “Have you ever seen anything so awesome in
your life?”
About
Lea Barrymire:
Lea lives in Western New York
with her hubby, three children, and miscellaneous critters. Before the rugrats,
she lived a life of adventure, following her husband all over Europe with the
US military. She’s slept in a car outside Paris, drove six hours just to see
tulips in the Netherlands, and knocked ash from her shoes at Pompeii. Now she
spends her time in life’s adventures at soccer games, PTA meetings and school
plays.
Lea has loved reading from a
very young age, spending many sleepless nights devouring books. Science fiction
and paranormal were her favorite genres to read as a teenager, and that love
bled into her adult life. She started writing during a bout of insomnia, to
fill time, and found it filled a creative void. Now she communes regularly with
the characters in her head and tries not to laugh out loud when they say
something funny.
When Lea isn’t reading, writing
or corralling kids, she enjoys watching movies and sciencey shows, or just
kicking back and listening to some music.
