#NewRelease Bitten Under Fire by @HVLong #Review

Title: Bitten Under Fire
Author: Heather Long
Series: Bravo Team WOLF
Rating: 5 Books
Blurb: Bianca Devlin’s work is her life. Now, she’s finally taking a vacation...and guerillas hit her resort to kidnap a diplomat’s son. She does the only thing that makes sense—intervene to save the child’s life. Being dragged into the jungle with a scared kid she’s determined to protect was definitely not how she saw this trip ending.

After she returns to Texas, the last person Bianca expected to see was Sergeant Carlos “Cage” Castillo, the member of Bravo Team WOLF that helped rescue her. Nevertheless, there he is, living across the street from the house she just bought. The coincidence is alarming, but she has to admit, his presence isn’t entirely unwanted.

But there’s something off about Cage—the way he can move without a sound or the weird way his eyes seem to almost glow at times. And how can Bianca manage her growing attraction, when everything she knows about him and his reason for being there, turns out to be a lie?

Bianca goes on vacation...and it isn't the peaceful vacation she envisioned, but she is the type of person who sees a situation and does her best to survive and keep others around her alive and thriving. She risks her life to a child, and does a good job of saving him until enter Bravo Team WOLF being lead by Cage. Things go a bit wonky but Cage is easily a candidate for the best hero I've read in a long time.

Ms. Long continues to always delight with her world building and the work and care that has gone into coming up with her world and rules for the world shows in how easy it is to fall into the story and feel like you are there with the characters feeling and seeing what they are experiencing.

I love both the main character because they were relatable on a human level. I definitely love these wolves and look forward to the rest of Bravo Team WOLF falling in love, I can only hope their love stories are just as much fun.

So to recap, I loved Bianca because she didn't take no crap from Cage or anyone, she was a heroine who could rescue herself but Cage does it so well, that I'm happy she let him rescue her. Cage is a charming hero that when he messes up does a good job making up for it, and overall I was thoroughly impressed with the story, the setting and the characters. I will wait somewhat patiently for more stories in this series, though they are definitely easily standalone, I enjoyed feeling like I already knew the cast of characters.

So read this one, and read When Danger Bites too.
