Make Me Burn by R.G. Alexander - Review

One wrong step and it could all go up in flames…

Fireborne, Book 2

Aziza Jane Stewart is the last of the Fireborne, and so far it’s been nothing but a curse, destroying her family and putting everyone she loves in danger. Now she’s on a quest to find her brother’s portion of the power that flows in her veins and track down the murdering Jiniyr who still threaten her loved ones.

She and her Enforcer lover Brandon are officially “in a relationship”, but she’s still torn between two men who both set her on fire. Brandon’s duties are driving a wedge between them, and her need to protect her Jinn guardian isn’t helping. Exiled and stripped of his powers, Ram is focused on satisfying his darkest urges…and tempting her to come along for the ride.

When Aziza discovers Brandon has been keeping news of ritualistic murders from her and the evidence is pointing at Ram, all bets are off. It’s time to find her own answers, embrace what’s inside her and make her own rules, damn the consequences.

WARNING:Explicit content, even more danger and heavy drinking than book one, fetish clubs and role-play, whips and chains, voyeurism, exhibitionism, as well as more inappropriate use of supernatural powers for deviant activities… Burning down the house.

With the story picking up shortly after the first book, Burn with Me, Make Me Burn, quickly gave me a wonderful Aziza fix, I was dying to know what had happened next. I even felt some of Aziza’s confusion on why bad things weren’t still happening, and then wanting to punch her lover, Bran right along with her for hiding things. As I touched on when I reviewed the first book, I love Aziza. She shows more of that take no prisoners, I’m a strong, stop underestimating me attitude that I love from her.

Ms. Alexander did a good job of giving Aziza that strength without making her unlikeable. She’s extremely likeable and relatable. She’s the kind of woman I want to grow up to be.

I was right there with her, with her conflict between the men who she desires, I mean Bran is all kinds of sexy, but Ram also sets her on fire in his own kinky way. There is even a possibility for a third man, who I found just as sexy, so I’m firmly hoping and wishing that Aziza doesn’t have to choose in the end. I want her to get it all, because the whole destiny thing has not been kind to her and she needs a reward and three hunky me, that would be a fantastic reward.

There is a twist near the end, that had me yelling, screaming and overall unleashing my emotions, and I love that. I love that I was led along and that I care enough about these characters and what’s happening to have real emotions.

Ms. Alexander shows that she’s a true mistress with words, and I look forward to more stories from her. The Fireborne series is a must read, if I could make all my friends read it I would. It’s a world that I enjoy being immersed in and I’m sad when I have to leave. I highly recommend this book, and this series, because it’s best read as a series. It’s an epic story that I will follow faithfully wherever it takes me.
