Burn With Me by R.G. Alexander - Review

As a side note, I read this book when it first released, I don’t know why I never reviewed it. Especially since I regard it so highly.

Aziza Jane Stewart is living on borrowed time, and making a few mistakes in London seems like a good way to go out with a bang. But when two compelling strangers draw her into an ancient conflict, she realizes her curse isn’t about death at all…it’s about the power within her.

The sexy giant following her says he can smell trouble on her skin, the smokeless fire and magic of the demons he was born and bred to hunt. Brandon may be an enforcer, but his reaction to her is anything but adversarial. Ram, her new Jinn shadow, will do whatever it takes to come between them, and he’s just as hard for Aziza to resist.

When her dark family legacy burns to the surface, whom can Aziza trust? The alpha male who pushes all her hot buttons, the Jinn who seduces her in dreams, or the emerging Fireborne within? As danger circles closer, she must learn to embrace her newfound powers—and trust someone with her heart—before she becomes the final casualty.

Warning: Explicit content, magic, danger, voyeurism, chains, a secret ménage and carnal deeds of devilish debauchery at every other turn. Basically…fasten your seatbelts and get ready to burn.

Talk about a woman who keeps taking hits and just rolls with it when others would be screaming messes in the corner rocking back and forth. I love Aziza, and she’s pretty sure she’s crazy until others start seeing her delusions, and the she realizes that the curse she always though she had, is kind of real even if it’s different then she imagined.

Where to start with Aziza, other than I wish I had a fraction of her courage, she is willing to put herself out there and have grand adventures, even if part of it is because she thinks she has a deadline on life, don’t we all wish we could do our bucket list and live dangerously and really live life. Now she finds out that she has a destiny and that there is magic, Jinn and other things in the world, but she doesn’t run, she stands her ground and gets pissed. I love that.

Ms. Alexander has built a beautiful world, and it’s obvious that a lot of time, planning and thought have gone into building the right background to support and further all the crazy that is happening to Aziza and her ever faithful companions, and new friends she’s acquiring and meeting.

This story is kinky and fun, and Aziza is definitely a passionate character, and I was always happily on the side of whatever makes Aziza happy. Some things wrap up in this story, but not everything, because this is an epic story, the kind that needs several books to get to the very satisfying end, if it was a story that could be told in 200 pages, then it wouldn’t have the same depth and beauty that it does. So be prepared to want to dive into the next one.

I cannot recommend this book more! It’s the kind of story that first got me into reading, with the fantastic world building, strong heroine and a cast of supporting characters that just make it shine.

I bought my very own copy, this is my own opinion. I was not compensated for my review.
