Book two of the Rolling Thunder Motorcycle Club...
Someone has hacked past Brain’s firewalls and sold the MC’s
information. Brain and Bash are on a mission to catch the hacker, find out who
hired him, and then make him pay.
Until Brain discovers the hacker is a woman, and just as
smart as him. She’s so clever, he chases her a full week before he finally
catches her.
She’s the enemy, and yet his wolf wants to protect her from
Bash. Worse, his wolf is beginning to decide he wants to claim her.
This isn’t going to be pretty.
Warning: Fights with full-on violence and lots of blood, as
well as descriptions of horrendous tortures to a captured female.
This book makes me want to use profanity to explain just how
good it was. Ms. Blevins comes at this story with the full force of her
storytelling skills, and at one point makes me hate a previous character I
adored before. That kind of emotion will always have me unable to put a book
down. This was no exception, I could not put it down, and even read it as the same
time as a friend, and we kept, did that just happen?
Brain is a genius, and so is Ice. Ice has been through some
pretty bad torture in the past. It’s formed her into this hard shell, yet she
is still pretty vulnerable. This is seen especially with how some of Brain’s
fellow MC brothers treat her, and I admit that the way they treat her and
eventually Brain are the reason I was so annoyed at them.
Brain for his part, is on a mission, but finds himself close
to abandoning that mission so he can have Ice. That allowed for a lot of leeway
for how I feel about him, it helps that Ice while vulnerable, is a tough as
nails heroine who can and will take care of herself.
The sex between these two is both sweet and dirty with a
heavy dose of sweet. If you’ve read Ms. Blevins, you know she can construct a well-structured
sex scene, I like that she took into account Ice’s previous abuse, and Brain’s
wolf side’s need to dominate, and attack the problem head on. It made their
relationship more believable in my mind.
I definitely enjoyed every second of this book, even when it
raised my blood pressure a few times. It’s not a typical romance, Brain isn’t a
typical hero and isn’t necessarily always a good guy. He’s a man who will do
anything for those he holds dear, and sometimes that means doing things that
others might find offensive. I look forward to seeing Ms. Blevins work with
some of the more hardcore and criminal MCs and having her get them to a point
where I love them even if I don’t want to.
Definitely pick up Duke, the first book in this series, and
join me on the wild ride ahead!
