Home Run
The Keller Family
Series, Book 7
by Bernadette Marie
In one moment Christian
Keller’s life was changed. Now as he picks up the pieces he wonders if he can
possibly recoup what he lost.
Victoria Lincoln had a
promising future with Christian until an accident took the life of her sister
and left her as guardian to her two small children.
Their lives have gone in
different directions, but Christian and Victoria’s paths will cross again. It
will take a lot of change to pick up where they left off—if either of them can.
Quickly, exhaustion took over
her body. At some point she knew she’d heard the kids in the hallway with Scott
on their way to bed, but she slept through the night.
She’d nearly forgotten he was
there until the next morning when she walked downstairs to make her coffee. The
deep breathing from the living room startled her a moment. Then she saw him
splayed out under a Mickey Mouse blanket. Her breath hitched in her throat at
the sight of his bare chest.
Steadying herself with a
cleansing breath she walked toward the kitchen.
She was more than grateful that
she’d brushed her teeth before coming down, because when Scott walked into the
kitchen and pressed himself up behind her she’d let out a sigh. His hard body
was close against her and his lips were on her neck.
“Are you feeling better?”
“Uh-huh,” was all she could
manage.
“I can call in sick and take
care of you.” His voice had dipped sensually and she swallowed hard.
“I have to work.”
He let out a groan and then
gave her a peck on the cheek. “Maybe tonight and the rest of the weekend.”
He moved away from her and
headed down the hall to the bathroom and Victoria let out the breath she’d been
holding. Right. It was Friday. He could come back and spend all weekend.
Scott would be spending the
night.
Dear Lord, was she ready for
this. She looked down at her shaky hand. Yes. She was ready.
To get started can you tell us what you are
working on or have coming out?
I’ve been working very hard on
book 8 of the Keller Family series, THE ACCEPTANCE. And then I’ve been also
getting a trilogy ready for its launch this summer called THE THREE MRS.
MONROES. I think this will be well loved!
What made you realize that writing was it
for you? Do you write full time?
I both write and publish full
time! So I don’t get too far from the industry in a day, that’s for sure. But I
knew I wanted to write when ideas consumed me and I couldn’t get them written
fast enough. As it is I can pen a book in under two months and somewhere in
there I’m usually starting another book too.
What is a typical day of writing like for
you?
I write in increments, usually.
With a busy publishing house to run and 5 sons (15-9) I have to write when I
can. So I’m very good at setting a timer and working on a time budget!
Which genre(s) do you write and is one of
them your favorite?
I write Contemporary Romance
and I read the same. But I think in time you will find some paranormal coming
from me. Contemporary, however, is my very favorite!
How did you start your writing career?
By writing and waiting for
rejection. Yep, I was raised by a salesman and I was very familiar with the 10
no’s to 1 yes policy. So I set out to be rejected and learn what it was all
about. I took every ounce of information anyone would give me as feedback and I
processed it. I was picked up by a small house that basically stole my work and
didn’t pay me what was owed, so that put the entrepreneur in me to work. I was
published and now I was going into publishing. This is where I found my soul.
And now I not only publish what and how I want I help others do the same.
Tell us about your current release.
Home Run is the 7th book in the
Keller Family series. This story is Christian’s. We have followed Christian
since he was about 12. So it is fun to see him grown up and working through the
loss of his career and trying to get back to being himself. Though we see him
pain a bit. His manly ego has cost him the love of his life, but for those who
haven’t read the Kellers, you will find from book one that all members of this
family are there for each other and it make a huge difference in how one
recovers from heartbreak, loss, injury…you name it.
Plotter or Pantser? Why?
Total Pantser!!! I don’t write my stories. The characters do.
I know very little about what is going to happen when I start. I usually have
one fantastic scene in my head and I write until I get to it. They do the rest.
Bernadette Marie has been an avid
writer since the early age of 13, when she’d fill notebook after notebook with
stories that she’d share with her friends.
Her journey into novel writing started the summer before eighth grade
when her father gave her an old typewriter.
At all times of the day and night you would find her on the back porch
penning her first work, which she would continue to write for the next 22
years.
In 2007 – after marriage,
filling her chronic entrepreneurial needs, and having five children –
Bernadette began to write seriously with the goal of being published. That year she wrote 12 books. In 2009
she was contracted for her first trilogy and the published author was
born. In 2011 she (being the
entrepreneur that she is) opened her own publishing house, 5 Prince Publishing,
and has released contemporary titles and has begun the process of taking on
other authors in other genres.
Bernadette spends most of her
free time driving her kids to their many events. She is also an accomplished martial artist,
working her way to her second degree black belt in Tang Soo Do. An avid reader she loves to meet readers who
enjoy reading contemporary romances and she always promises Happily Ever After.

I'm embarassed to admit I've had The Executive's Decision on my kindle for over a year and have yet to read it! After reading the reviews for the Keller Family series and following your book tour, I find I have done us both a great disservice. I've missed out on several great reads and I've deprisved you of a warranted fan.Next up on the carousel is definitely The Executive's Decison. Thanks for pointing out that it's a free download.
