Release Day Must Haves!

SO next week is my birthday March 5th, which is also a big release day for a lot of books. Here's my much anticipated release list.

1. Frost Burned by Patricia Briggs
Mercy Thompson returns in the seventh novel in the #1 New York Times bestselling series.

Mercy Thompson’s life has undergone a seismic change. Becoming the mate of Adam Hauptman—the charismatic Alpha of the local werewolf pack—has made her a stepmother to his daughter Jesse, a relationship that brings moments of blissful normalcy to Mercy’s life. But on the edges of humanity, what passes for a minor mishap on an ordinary day can turn into so much more…

After an accident in bumper-to-bumper traffic, Mercy and Jesse can’t reach Adam—or anyone else in the pack for that matter. They’ve all been abducted.

Through their mating bond, all Mercy knows is that Adam is angry and in pain. With the werewolves fighting a political battle to gain acceptance from the public, Mercy fears Adam’s disappearance may be related—and that he and the pack are in serious danger. Outclassed and on her own, Mercy may be forced to seek assistance from any ally she can get, no matter how unlikely.

2. Into the Spotlight by Heather Long

Fifty years ago, Jeannie Williams made her way to Las Vegas seeking fame and fortune. Instead, she lost her soul and wound up performing nightly shows at the Arcana Royale. Every day, she straps on her feathers, her glitter, her stilettos, and she dances. Every day, it’s the same.

Until the day he walks in.

For six centuries, Malcolm Reynolds has been the go-to guy for anything his family needs: warrior, diplomat, wrangler, researcher, and now an attorney. He enters the Arcana Royale Casino, intent on negotiating the release of his cousin’s bad debt, but one look at the golden-skinned showgirl ignites a fire of need that he’s never experienced. When the fantasy come true sits at his table, words he never expected to hear come out of her lush mouth: “I need your help.”

Now he’s in for the toughest battle of his life, because the Overseers own both his cousin’s debt and her soul. And he’s not planning on leaving the Royale without either one.

This book has been previously published and has been revised and expanded from its original release.

Warning: Contains high-stakes games, sexy showgirls, and a powerful showdown between a vampire that can’t lose and the House that never does. Spells, slots, sirens and sex, oh my!

I'm totally reading Frost Burned first, normally I dive into Heather's books but since I know she's super excited about the new Mercy Thompson book, she'll forgive me. So this is pretty much my reading order. I'll have a review for these books up as quickly as I can. I'm also considering a giveaway party since I'm turning 25, I'm thinking something in August, around my mom's birthday since she's a big part of the reason I read, and it gives me time to get some kick ass prizes lined up.

So, what are you looking forward to reading this next week, what will be your release day read?

Review: A Little Harmless Fascination

BLURB:

Wanting her isn't smart, seducing her is inevitable, but falling in love with her could be downright deadly for both of them.

Security expert Conner Dillon isn’t a man who often takes a vacation. So when he is ordered to take a month off and his sister insists on a trip to Hawaii, he isn’t very happy. But, after seeing his landlady Jillian Sawyer again, he might just find something—or someone—to occupy his time.

For years, Jillian has always had a crush on Conner. Now an erotic romance author with a thing for Doms, she finds herself beyond intrigued by the man. He is good to the core, but there is something else darker in him that calls to her.

After one night in bed, they both find themselves addicted. In Jillian, Conner has found the perfect sub…and in him she finds someone she can trust. Falling in love isn’t what they expected, but walking away is impossible—especially when they realize someone wants Jillian dead.

WARNING this book contains the following: An uptight security expert who prefers schedules, a romance writer who does not, tattoos, a trip to the Aloha Swap Meet, two hunky neighbors who irritate our hero, Hawaiian scenes, and of course this would not be a Harmless book without a trip to Rough 'n Ready. Ice is recommended as any Harmless Addict will tell you, but the author takes no responsibility if a reader should become overheated. Read at your own risk.

My Review:
A Little Harmless Fascination is the seventh book in the Harmless series by Melissa Schroeder and it’s a strong showing in this addictive series.  Conner Dillon is a workaholic security expert that refuses to take a break until a health scare sends him to Hawaii to recuperate.
Jillian Sawyer, an erotic romance author, is his landlord, and she’s had a crush on Conner for years.  He’s a Dom who doesn’t realize how much he needs a sub, and Jillian is a sub who doesn’t know if she can handle a Dom and together they embark on a delicious thrill ride.  Someone is out to end this fledgling relationship and it’s a race to find the culprit before Jillian ends up dead.

I loved the interaction between Connor and Jillian, and that they fight their attraction. Ms. Schroeder does a beautiful job of showing us around Hawaii in this book, taking us to places the locals frequent and enjoy. A Harmless book wouldn’t be complete without a trip to the BDSM club Rough N Ready and the trip doesn’t disappoint. I will admit that she kept me guessing on the villain and surprised me, which doesn’t happen often.

The meddling of family and the catching up with old characters from previous books just brings the Harmless world to life. That does present a slight disadvantage if you’ve never read a Harmless book, but it’s handled in such a way that it doesn’t ruin the stories for any newcomers.

Ms. Schroeder is self-publishing, and I’m very grateful for this fact, especially if it keeps the Harmless books coming faster.  If you haven’t read any of the Harmless books, just dive in and fall in love.

Hi and Welcome!

Welcome to my new blog! I wanted somewhere I could write about my love books and promote those authors I love. If there is anything I've learned in the last year, it's the more an author's name gets out there, the more they sell and the quicker I get new books.

I have a small (read that GIANT) reading addiction with no desire or drive for a cure. I hope you will follow along and pardon the dust, while I get this off the ground.

Thanks for stopping by! Hope to see you around.
